Media Reports Compared: Which Outlet Reported Which Claim

By Influish Editorial Team · Published · Last updated

Short answer

All nine verified reports agree on the core story: Influish, described as Udaipur-based, is offering a paid role watching Instagram Reels and reporting trends. They diverge on 5 points — most notably who speaks in the video, whether the job is full-time, and whether people outside Udaipur can apply. Two details appear in only one report each.

Matrix

Which outlet reported which claim?

Each row is a claim; each column is a verified report, ordered by publication time. Rows shaded and marked Conflict are claims on which outlets give different or contradictory versions. Every cell carries a symbol and a text label, so the table reads correctly without colour. Swipe or scroll sideways on small screens.

5 conflicts

Where exactly do the reports conflict?

Who is speaking in the video?

Salam Hindustan names the speaker as Sankalp Nag and calls him the 26-year-old founder and CEO. The Printlines also names him, calling him CEO, though its own quote refers to the speaker as “founder”. India Today, Asianet Newsable, NKTV, Dainik Bhaskar, Times Kerala and Asianet News Marathi all describe an unnamed man, representative or employees. Influish’s website independently confirms that Sankalp Nag is the founder and CEO — but not that he is the person in the video. Status: Unresolved

Is it a full-time job?

India Today and Asianet News Marathi say so. Six outlets that describe the application form say it offers a choice of full-time or internship. Neither version is confirmed by the company. Status: Unresolved

Is it an office job?

Two Hindi outlets quote a line about sitting in the office all day. India Today’s English rendering of what appears to be the same line has no office in it. No outlet states on-site, remote or hybrid in its own words. Status: Unresolved

Can people outside Udaipur apply?

Asianet Newsable presents the DM link as limited to Udaipur applicants. NKTV says others can use the form in the Instagram bio. The remaining reports describe both routes without saying who may use which. Status: Unresolved

Did 11,000 people “apply”?

The headlines of Salam Hindustan and Dainik Bhaskar’s English site frame the figure as applications. Their article bodies, and every other report carrying the number, say more than 11,000 people requested the form. The figure is attributed to the company and has not been independently checked. Status: Requested the form

Minor variations that are not real conflicts

  • View counts (300,000+ in most reports; 340,000+ in India Today) reflect different writing times.
  • Asianet Newsable uses both “Hi” and “Hello” for the comment; all others say “Hi”.

What do the primary sources show?

News reports are secondary sources. We also checked the three primary places where the story could be confirmed or updated:

Primary sources, as observed on 2026-11-06
SourceWhat we sawWhat it confirms
instagram.com/gangsofstartupDisplay name “The Viral Startup Office”; bio “Startup name - INFLUISH”; link to a Google form labelled “Hiring Form”The account belongs to Influish and a hiring form exists. The bio does not mention “doomscroller”.
influish.comA creator platform (Instagram auto-DM, brand collaborations, growth tools); names Sankalp Nag as Founder & CEO; footer “Careers” linkThe company and its founder. The homepage lists no open roles and does not mention the doomscroller job. Its visible text gives no company address; its Organization structured data lists Udaipur, Rajasthan.
doomscroller.influish.comDoes not resolve — no DNS recordNo official job page exists at that address as of 2026-11-06.

We do not link the Google form itself. The bio of the original account is the place the company controls, and reposted form links are easy to imitate. For a plain-language summary of what the job is and how applying was reported to work, see the Influish doomscroller job explained (our sister guide, Doomscroller Job Guide).

Excluded

Which reports are not in this comparison, and why?

Only reports we could load and read are compared above. These items were excluded, so no claims are taken from them:

  • Moneycontrol: “Udaipur company offers people job to scroll Instagram Reels all day, says it is looking for 'doomscroller'” is listed in news indexes but could not be verified (Page did not load. WebFetch refused the domain, and curl returned HTTP 403 'Access Denied' (Akamai) for both the AMP and non-AMP URLs. The headline shown is taken only from Google News and Bing News index listings, which list it as published 5 Nov 2026. The likely non-AMP URL is the same path without '/amp', but this is unconfirmed. No claims were extracted.).
  • NDTV: seen in Google News RSS (05 Nov 2026) and an MSN syndication listing; not verified. The article URL could not be located or fetched. Not verified.
  • NewsBytes Tamil: seen in Bing News RSS; not verified. HTTP 403 on fetch. Not verified. Its headline asks whether watching reels earns a monthly salary. That is a question, not a confirmed claim.
  • NKTV Assamese: seen in Web search; not verified. Likely a translation of the NKTV English article. Not fetched.
  • MSN (syndication): seen in Bing News RSS; not verified. Syndicated copies of the NDTV, Asianet Newsable and India Today stories, plus a Hindi piece ('रील्स देखो, पैसे कमाओ! ... 11000 लोग कर चुके अप्लाई'). Not fetched.
